Breastfeeding in public?

Breastfeeding is communicated in to public by flashmobs all over China. Each year, the event is held right around National Breastfeeding Awareness Day (May 20th) and always seems to draw quite the crowd.

China has a breastfeeding rate of just 28%, much lower than the rate of ……..

Imitation in the neonatal phase

Imitation has long been assumed to occur from birth, with influential theories  placing an innate imitation module at the foundation of social cognition (potentially underpinned by a mirror neuron System. Yet, the very phenomenon of neonatal imitation has remained controversial. Empirical support is mixed and interpretations are varied, potentially because previous investigations have relied heavily on cross-sectional designs with relatively small samples and with limited controls. Here, we report surprising results from the most comprehensive longitudinal study of neonatal imitation to date.

Where we like to be touched, and where we don’t

The closer the person in social relationship, the larger the body area this person is allowed to touch. The bodily maps of touch were similar in all five cultures studied. Social touching thus seems to be a biologically determined and evolutionarily developed way to form social relationships. The results were recently published in Proceedings of the National Academy.

It is really worth looking into the recent study conducted by Aalto University and the University of Oxford. It shows that the human body has a precisely defined touch maps that are tightly linked to social touch that is allowed in different kinds of human relationships. It is also said that this is relevant to many or even all cultures.

Please have a look and talk it over with your friends. 🙂

Never disobey or: surrender to submission

Parents usually love their children and children love their parents. Of course there are different ways of showing and expressing your love.

And yet something happened some weeks ago in China I really could not understand. It’s sad that young students make a Kowtow to their parents for their first day of primary school. It’s sad that the children were made to show their gratitude towards their parents and teachers in ways that struck some observers as shameful and old-fashioned.

Well there are differences…..

Emotionally strong people

Sometimes people want to be emotionally strong, sometime they have to be. But what does this mean to be emotionally strong and how can you judge a person`s internal state of feeling by what you see on the outside. Often people think emotionally strong people are quiet, never complain or don’t show too much emotional Expression. In contrast to this any signs of emotional ‘leakage’ (i.e., expressing emotional distress in any way) or tears (especially in men), is often viewed as evidence the person has difficulties coping and is emotionally weak.

This often is not correct and…………..

Idioms for facial expression

Facial expression is part of body language and nonverbal communication. You can describe facial expression, you can analyse facial expression and you can look at the common language spoken by people in the street to identify facial expression. Here are some English idioms for facial expression which, to be honest, are very much to the point and can make you smile about it.

Introduction to Body-Psychotherapy BPT (Bioenergetics)

对一种身体心理疗法的介绍(生物能分析治疗)

 Dipl. rer. soc. Ulrich Sollmann

BPT is a unique and effective psychotherapy that helps resolve emotional issues by engaging the wisdom of the body in a safe and caring relationship with a trained therapist.

生物能分析治疗 (下文简称BPT)是一种独特的有效的心理治疗方法,它通过结合身体的智慧通过和一个受训治疗师之间安全关照的关系解决情绪的议题。 BPT is a way to understand the person and the body on the energetic level. The more energy we have, the better we feel and express ourselves. Energy means the interplay of charge and discharge, of breathing, feeling, movement and relating to the other person and life in general. The more energy I have, the better I feel and the better I can develop in life.

BPT是一种从能量水平理解人和身体的一种方法。我们拥有越多的能量,我们就能越好的感受和表达我们自己。能量一般是意味着补充和释放,呼吸,感觉,运动,和其他人,和生活等的交互。我拥有越多的能量,我的感受就会更好,我在生活中的发展也会更好。………
